yoga is yummy

loving life, one breath and one bite at a time

Yes, I am a little excited about my new sink, countertops, and floor!

IMG_9648 I am very thankful that we were able to do a little kitchen makeover.  I am married to a conservative guy & we try to keep everything in balance spending wise.  (except for organic raspberries… sorry D)  Anyway, we love it!  Most of you know what my kitchen used to look like… pretty different, huh?  It’s now very warm & down to earth.  Can’t wait to share it with our friends!  I am thinking of getting a cool bowl from Pier One to fill with fruit for the center of the new round counter.  Not organic fruit, D… we’ll buy the cheap stuff for decoration. hehe  XOXO

Wow.  What a huge gigantically busy day.  Lots going on over here & thankful for ALL of it.  Back up a tad.  This morning I got to walk to my yoga class (one of my students lives in my neighborhood, about half mile away) and we did “yoga on location” since my studio was… under construction.

Okay, I don’t have a studio!  I just have my home, simple and warm.  I love it.  We practice yoga in what would normally be a dining area, but it’s empty with big windows and usually filled with yoga mats, blocks, straps, and bolsters.  Who needs a table to eat on?  Not us.  That’s why we have a little extreme makeover kitchen addition going on.  Our little countertop is now a little rounded so it resembles a table for the 3 of us and it’s just so KEWL.  I love it.  The new counters went in today and Dan just put the last knob on the cabinets (same cabinets, but they SEEM new!) and tomorrow the flooring guys arrive bright and early to put down new, darker, floors.  After 10 years in our very white and green kitchen… this new modern, earthy, simple kitchen will be awesome.  I promise to post before and after photos ASAP.

Anyways, between yoga and helping D remove the countertops last night til almost midnight and too many errands and homework with Abbers and met 2 sweet friends at Panera and oh my… tonight was my 2 hour webinar for yoga training! aaaah!!  My eyeballs were going to fall out of my head by that point I swear.  BUT… God is just so HIMSELF.  Awesomeness.  Tonight was all about ENERGY and the chakras and all of that.  I think the energetic part of yoga (beyond the physical body and basic movement and the emotional side of rest and true connection, not to mention how much we can LOVE JESUS whole time) the energy part of yoga is often misunderstood, or simply avoided by a lot of Christians.

I really get it.  It took a couple years but I completely see how God is all ABOUT energy.  There is indeed an element of ENERGY in what God does.  He speaks, it happens.  Check your Bible for proof of that. There is so much more to it, but sleep is so needed at the moment.

God of green hope…  Romans 15:13

I love that.  GREEN… living, organic… THAT gives me energy.  God is again… HIMSELF.  You only teach what you know, so be IN IT.  LOVED THAT.  Now, of course I am into yoga and practice all the time and read about it, study it, share it, teach it, love it.  Wait, Pol.  That is all well and good, and yoga may be my extension cord… but I better plug that baby IN.  God’s word, prayer, stillness so HE can speak.  Gotta work on that.

nite nite.  XOXO

To this I labor, struggling with all HIS energy, which works so powerfully in me.  Colossians 1:29

Today was my yoga workshop & we focused on hips, shins, knees, legs.  THE ROOTS.  I love feeling grounded and knowing my roots are deep, ya know?  Anyway, the sunshine melted us as we practiced poses like frog, triangle, half moon, & reclined bound angle… (butter on toast pose).  It was a sweet morning and a JOY to see many of my friends in one spot!  I feel so blessed to keep sharing what I love with others.  Except for this today…  IMG_9611

I did NOT share that. hehe

But I, God, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be. Jeremiah 17:9

It sure felt like spring today… almost 60 degrees!  Here is my girl in her new shirt.  I love that green bean.
